JSPS Invitation Program for East Asian Young Scholars

Following the last year’successful experience, the Graduate School of
International Development (GSID), Nagoya University, has been once again
awarded a research grant to carry out an exchange program titled
“Fostering Research Capabilities of Young Researchers through the
‘Academic Network for Development in Asia”, under the sponsorship of
JSPS’s “Invitation Program for East Asian Young Scholars.” This year,
several graduate students from each of the ANDA partner universities of
8 Asian countries will be invited to Nagoya University in October 2011,
to undergo a short-term training to enhance their research capabilities.

The Third ANDA International Seminar on March 5-7, 2011

The Third International Seminar of the Academic Network for Development in Asia (ANDA) will be organized at Nagoya University by GSID, Nagoya University on March 5-7, 2011, as part of its ongoing international research project on “Skills Development for the Emerging New Dynamism in Asian Developing Countries under Globalization” sponsored by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) under its Asia/Africa Science Platform Program. On March 5, an International Symposium on this topic will be held at the Symposion Hall of Nagoya University (open to the public, in English).

Relay Seminar Series under the JSPS Exchange Program for East Asian Young Researchers (May 17-20, 2010)

GSID Open Seminar on the Role of Academic Research in Asian Development

GSID will hold a one-day open seminar on the Role of Academic Research
in Asian Development on May 11, 2010. This seminar is held as part of

JSPS Exchange Program for East Asian Young Researchers (May 10-22, 2010)

Since 2009, GSID has been engaged in an exchange program entitled “Building Research Capabilities of Young Scholars for Asian Development through the Academic Network for Development in Asia (ANDA),” under JSPS’s Exchange Program for East Asian Young Researchers. As part of this program, GSID invites a total of 14 young scholars from 8 Asian countries to provide them with an opportunity for participating in a series of seminars, lectures, field visits, and for promoting academic exchange with fellow invitees and Japanese young scholars including GSID faculty and students. Please click here for a list of participants (PDF 12KB).

The JSPS Exchange Program for East Asian Young Researchers

The Graduate School of International Development (GSID), Nagoya University has been awarded a research grant from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for its academic exchange program on “Building Research Capabilities of Young Scholars for Asian Development through the Academic Network for Development in Asia (ANDA)” (Coordinator: Prof. Aya Okada). This exchange program will grant a fellowship to a total of 16 young scholars from ANDA member universities in 8 Asian countries to undergo short-term training in Japan to build and enhance their research capabilities, and promote exchange activities with fellow young scholars from Japan and other Asian countries. For more details, please visit: http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-eayouth/index.html

Call for Papers for Student Sessions at the Second ANDA Int’l Seminar

Several graduate students (preferably doctoral students) from ANDA member universities will be awarded a travel grant and provided an opportunity to present their research work in progress. ANDA coordinators of participating universities may send their recommendations of suitable candidates to Prof. Aya Okada, GSID, Nagoya University by November 15, 2009.
