We first gathered at Nagoya Station early in the morning and then took a 20-minute train ride to Gifu. From there, we continued by bus to Seki City, which took approximately another 20 minutes. This time, there were two teams heading to Seki City: a Local Revitalization Cooperator team and a Multicultural Coexistence team, which we were part of.

After another short journey, we finally arrived in Seki. We walked to a public space called Kominka Aiseki, where we met our first interviewee. Along the way, we were captivated by the unique landscape of Seki City. The blend of nature, modern development, and traditional architecture gives the city its own distinctive charm. A few minutes before the interviewee arrived, we had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional Japanese-style lounge. The room was furnished with tatami mats, zabuton cushions, and a low table, where we conducted our interview.

After finishing the first interview, we headed to our next destination, the Seki Municipal Office. There were many handcrafted items on display, including swords, knives, ceramics, and many other locally made products. We also found a variety of local specialties, such as cookies, coffee, and dairy products.

Having fieldwork in Seki City is always an unforgettable experience.
